Oliver is 7!

For Oliver's 7th birthday, he really wanted to go to a Hibachi Grill and then have family over for cake and ice cream.  The dinner was filled with many laughs and good food.

After dinner, Oliver blew out the candles on his ice cream cake that he requested.

He received a new bike for his birthday along with many other special presents!

Oliver at 7 is a wonderful boy who we love very very much.  He loves to read and will devour almost any book that you give him.  He reminds me of myself when I was his age with his love of reading.  I enjoy discussing the stories he reads with him.  He also has a strong interest in "Fact Books" that provide him with random facts he can share.  Oliver is a foodie and there are only a few foods he won't eat- eggs, sausage, and mustard.  We try to steer clear of those foods for Mr. O.  He goes by Oliver, Olivier, Mr. O, and O.  On any given day, you will find me calling him one of these names.  He has been taking swimming lessons every week for a year and can swim on his own.  He tried soccer and did not like it.  He is very curious about how things work and we will often find him taking apart objects and putting them back together!

Summer 2014- Fourth of July

When the school year ends, we savor those summer days we have together as a family.  The hustle and bustle of early wake-ups, school, homework, and after-school activities is replaced by leisurely days at the Cape and in Maine.  One of the best parts of these visits, is spending it with loved ones.  Summer of 2014 was filled with many of these special times.  To start, Fourth of July on Cape Cod.

The Rest of 2013

This was the time of year when I didn't have a great functioning camera so the number of photos I have are actually very limited.  But, here are some favorites from the rest of 2013.

Bike riding with Grammi

All dressed up for Halloween!

My darling girl Adelaide turned 5!!!!  We celebrated at American Girl.

A photo from Christmas that year.  We were getting ready to move to our new house so we did not take many pictures.  I don't think Oliver and Adelaide will ever forget being surprised a few days before Christmas with a Christmas tree in the kitchen of our new house.  We didn't have a table, but we had a tree.

Summer 2013 Continued

Summer fun continued with a visit to Maine with Lorelai and Cali.  We made sure to stop at one of our favorite places...Gemmes!  Nothing like penny candy to make your day.

They made it to the dock!!!  They are celebrating in style!

Later on in the summer, we enjoyed a visit to Nashville, Tennessee to spend time with the Sweatman side of the family.

We ended our summer with the annual lobster feast!
